Realme X7 Max Unboxing And First Impression

Realme’s latest offering from its X7 series - Realme X7 Max 5G is here. It is equipped with Dimensity 1200 which is a flagship processor offered by Media Tek. This SoC is based on a 6nm process & it comes with many interesting features. It comes in this huge silver box & on backside of the box it mentions - Dimensity 1200 5G SoC, 120 Hz AMOLED screen, 50W Super Dart Charger, 64 MP Sony’s primary camera

Realme X7 Max Unboxing

You get a sim card tool, TPU case, documentation, (keeping the phone aside for a moment), type C cable & 65W charger but the phone supports only 50W. Now let's keep everything aside. Talking about build quality - this feels like a compact phone in hand & is also a light weight phone. This is having a unique design with small Dare To Leap branding & overall I like this design. It does have a matte texture on the back panel & that strip is glossy. It definitely looks good.

One thing we noticed is that it does feel compact in hand but also it is really light. It's about 180 grams but compared to other phones (they are usually around 200 grams). It's around 180 grams. To be precise it weighs around 178-179 grams & for a flagship phone I’ll say it is really a lightweight smartphone. Realme X7 Max Unboxing And First Impression

Realme X7 Max Ports & buttons

I'm very happy to see the 3.5 mm jack on this phone. Bottom side includes a microphone, Type C port, and speaker grill.

On the left hand side It has a golden colored power button. On the top side you get a noise cancelling microphone & on the right side there's a sim card tray & volume rockers.

Sim card tray you get is a dual nano sim card tray. But remember this is a plastic back panel & is not a glass back. Time to check what's inside this phone. Before that if you’re enjoying our unboxing then do like our videos. It’ll be really appreciated.

Realme X7 Max Display

It comes with a 6.43’’ Full HD+ 120 Hz AMOLED screen & 360 Hz touch sampling rate, HDR 10+ & 100 nits of peak brightness. It goes quite bright & it has a Dragon Trail glass protection. The screen to body ratio is 91.7% & that is the reason why it feels so compact. The top & bottom bezels are also very small & this makes the Realme X7 max so compact. Realme X7 Max Specification

This is the highlight of this phone. It has a Dimesity 1200 5G SoC & is based on 6nm power efficient process & it comes in 2 varian. Base variant - 8GB/128GB & higher variant - 12GB/256GB variant. Storage type here is the latest UFS 3.1 but it has LP DDR 4 X RAM.

Realme X7 Max Battery

4500 mAh coupled with 6nm processor is decent & it supports 50W charging, although the charger you get in the box is of 65W And Realme claims that it charges 0-50% in just 16 mins. So you get a good battery + charging combination .

Realme X7 Max Performance

This is the first phone from Realme in India that comes Dimensity 1200 SoC & we tried gaming a lot in the last 2-3 days to test the performance.

In fact I really liked the performance of the recent Dimensity processors. For gaming this Dimensity 1200 really shines. Especially because of that 360 Hz touch sampling rate & 120 Hz fast refresh rate, you’ll really enjoy gaming on this device.

Performance wise its a top notch but the AnTuTu score we got was around 6.4 Lakh whereas Realme claims the AnTuTu score for this phone is around 7 Lakh. So if we compare this D1200 with Snapdragon SoCs then it lies around SD 870 but performance wise we never faced any issues.

Whether it is multi-tasking, heavy app usage, heavy games etc. everything works flawlessly & I really liked the performance of D1200 SoC. Realme X7 Max Unboxing, First Impression, Specification, Camera And Performance

Realme X7 Max Connectivity

It supports 4G carrier aggregation(Realme also claims about 5G carrier aggregation), Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6 so all latest connectivity options are present. It a 5G with dual 5G sim card support (DSDS) & the good thing is it supports 7 5G bands.

Realme X7 Max Sensors

It comes with all the sensors as it is a near flagship device. It also has NFC, face unlock, in-display fingerprint scanner & it works really fast.

Realme X7 Max Software

It comes with Realme UI 2.0 out of the box which is based on Android 11. The Realme X7 Pro came with Android 10 but this comes with the latest OS. It does have some pre-installed apps & you can uninstall them very easily. You can also uninstall some system apps eg : Game Space app. And it can be reinstalled by going into settings. We didn’t see any ads but you’ll get some system notifications.

New features are included in Realme Lab which are experimental. For eg : Smooth scrolling, sleep capsule feature - which will hibernate all background running apps at night. Smooth scrolling will allow you to have a much better scrolling experience. Realme X7 Max Unboxing And First Impression

Realme X7 Max Camera

The cameras here are decent on the Realme X7 Max. It is a slight downgrade over the Realme X7 Pro that came with Sony’s IMX 686 sensor. But this is having a IMX 682 64 MP primary sensor. And it's a triple camera setup compared to the quad camera setup on the Realme X7 Pro.

The other cameras here are an 8 MP ultrawide & 2 MP macro camera. On the front you get a 16 MP selfie shooter. We took some sample shots but I think I was expecting a little too much. The photos taken during the normal lighting conditions came out average, have decent colors & good dynamic range. Low light performance is also average.

Cameras are good but it did not impress me because when comparing it to Realme X7 Pro, I was expecting a better camera performance which is missing on X7 max.

They’ve named this phone as Realme X7 Max so it should've got the Max camera as well. One thing that really impressed me was multimedia, especially its audio. It comes with stereo speakers that get quite loud & have great audio quality with that amazing display.

Overall it's a really good multimedia experience on this really nice & compact phone. So you’ll get a very good multimedia experience. It comes with IP X4 certification which I think is the first phone from a Realme that has an IP rating & that is a good thing. Realme X7 Max Unboxing And First Impression

Realme X7 Max Additional Features

It has Cam 2 Api support, Wide vine L1, does not have notification light & FM radio. SAR values are within limits. Realme X7 Max Unboxing, First Impression, Specification, Camera And Performance

Realme X7 Max First Impressions

I’m impressed ! Especially with the Dimensity 1200 SoC, a 6nm based process. It performs really well & is a big highlight. It did not meet my expectations when it came to cameras. I’m not saying that cameras are bad, it performs well but it's not that excellent.

Looking at other things it is a really good package. The Realme X7 Max sits slightly above the Realme X7 Pro which is priced around 30,000. I think the base variant of Realme X7 Max will cost between 30-34000. And if it manages to come at that price then this phone offers you a lot but it slightly disappoints in the camera department.
